I am grateful for the chance to be there.

There was nothing to be done now but try to begin the healing, and so Aule fashioned a vessel to contain the radiance of the last fruits.

Isil was the first wrought, and held the light of Telperion. Young Tilion of Orome’s band was chosen to guide it across the sky.

We knew nothing of this. As we walked under the well-loved, familiar sky at Cuiviénen, we continued to live as we believed Eru meant us to live.

Suddenly, we were shielding our eyes from the unexpected brightness crossing above us, diluting the starlight.

What are they up to now!

"What are they up to?" indeed. I have always felt that the adjustment to the moon and then the sun would have been difficult for those who had remained behind in Ennor when the migration happened. What a major adjustment they would have had to make to their habits! A nice viewpoint and response to the prompt.

Especially the ones who already considered those who left "deserters." Thanks for reading.

What are they up to now!

A very good question....

Thank you. I write my OC from this cultural group, and they are still not sanguine about many things the Valar and the Deserters did, even in her era.

Ohh, I quite enjoyed this. I've often reflected that the deeds of the Valar would seem unwarranted peculiar and inexplicable to many. I especially like the detail about the starlight.

Thank you. I write my OC with this background, and there are many things her people are not happy about.

Heehee - good point! But then them-beyond-the-encircling-sea do move in very mysterious ways.

You never know what those damn deserters will try next....

I love your choice in perspective here.

[identity profile] fileg.livejournal.com 2011-11-22 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you. My OC comes from this cultural background, so I have toyed with it quite a bit.

Always the question with that lot! It must have been a considerable shock. I love "diluting the starlight". What were they thinking?

[identity profile] fileg.livejournal.com 2011-11-23 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
What were they thinking?

I can tell you that North would answer, "Only of themselves, as usual." (she does have a soft spot for Ulmo, though)

What a lovely drabble!

Thanks. My cranky OC insisted on this one.
