Jim just called to confirm my dentist appointment tomorrow.

Turns out he heard 5th - but they actually said 15th. Great way to spend my birthday, neh? And on top of that, George (I love my dentist) retired since I saw him last. When he opened his own office years ago, I was his very first patient. (They were still painting!)

Ah well - at least I'm not in pain, and I like everybody currently at the office. And they are going to try to get me an earlier day.

I hope George is ok, though - apparently he wasn't planning to retire.....

Hmm, I'd say escaping an expected dentist visit is a great b-day gift, but for me a dentist visit is a semiannual torture-fest. So perhaps I am biased.
