I love DW as Murray Whelan (in _Stiff_ and _The Brush Off_). There are, currently, about 5 books in the Whelan series (authored by Melbourne-based Shane Maloney).

Every time another book comes out now, I rub my hands with glee. Another guaranteed 1.5 hrs with DW. :)

Oh, and I love the books too. Excellent, savvy, incredibly wry 'crime' novels.

I'm a mystery junkie anyway. I have the first two books, avon7 was kind enough to shop for the ones with David on the cover for me. I am dying to read the others, but I am holding out for more Wenham covers before I buy them. Time to try the library.

I'm a fan of the Elf, but also of the Dunadan. I'd be too afraid of getting Legolas mussed, whereas Aragorn would be up for a bit of rough and tumble.

My feelings toward the brothers Mir are mostly emotional - respect for the tragic heroes of Gondor - although there is of course the additional bonus that Bean is painfully sexy and Wenham is very cute.

I feel the same way about Mr M - I can't decide wether he's a genuinely nice guy, a little shy, a little left kilter, or a pretentious plonker who's so far up he's wearing himself as a hat!

But it would be very nice to have the opportunity to decide by conversation/personal experience. ;D
