Cats hate reading

I only repost this sort of thing when it really speaks to me.

(Usually this is referenced in our house with story of the time Tally, the largest, roundest cat, decided to climb up and block the TV while I was watching Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes. This caused me to say to [livejournal.com profile] notarysojac jim -- Ooooh, he looks just like he does in the book!)

Those are both a hoot. That's the edition of LOTR that I have (same covers), and I used to have a cat that lkooked very much like that one.

Um...aren't phone bills *always* Beowulf in the original Anglo-Saxon?

My original editions are the ones referenced in this icon.

(Over the years, I have lost the Two Towers - probably lent it to someone. And my copy of Return of the King was swept into the ocean by a wave while I was at the beach in the 60's. I swam after it and retrieved it, but it really isn't readable. I keep it in a ziplock bag with my old journals because I am so unreasonably attached to it.)

I think my phone bill is in something that doesn't use a latin alphabet. They are afraid I might decipher Anglo-Saxon if I tried really hard.
