It's been quite a while since I managed two drabbles for a single prompt! I *blame*
kortirion for this one, since her Gimli made me think about dwarves this week.
Title: Azanulbizar
Characters/Pairing: Dwarves, many with famous names, but all going unnamed here. It's easier to tell you it concerns the War of the Dwarves and the Orcs.
Rating:G
Warnings: rocks fall...?
Book/Source: LOTR appendix A
for the prompt "tomb" at

Discalimer: All of Arda belongs to The Professor. I am just a visitor.

Azanulbizar
The great vale in the arms of the mountains lay littered with the bodies of the victors. Seldom had so bitter a victory been claimed, for they had gained neither their home, nor gold, feasting or song. Not even tombs for the dead could be bought with this win. Vengeance they had, but that was all.
Their fallen they stripped of armor and axe, that their enemies might have no more joy than they.
But before they could carried the weight of heart and iron home, the bodies they could not lay in stone were given instead to the fire.
