Ramones, II

This is for [livejournal.com profile] cocoajava, but I thought some of you might be interested -

If you are interested in alternative Ramones cuts, there's an album by The Nutley Brass that [livejournal.com profile] notarysojac and I love for driving. It's a really acquired taste, so here are a couple of cuts:

I wanna be sedated

Blitzkrieg Bop

Thanks for catching that - they were correct in the email, but for some reason the actual page didn't change (probably me being too impatient)

Bemused is the best description for my state listening to these tracks. Surprised I am not.

I enjoyed them, but I think one would have to love the Ramones, or perhaps the era, a great deal more than I do to seek them out.

All the Ramones mentions I've seen on LJ lately -- dangerous! Yesterday I kept singing Blitzkrieg Bop under my breath, no matter who was around!

That reminds me, I don't have any new wave icons. Considering how important Nwe Wave was to me in the late 70s/early 80s.. I really shulid do something about it. But what band?

I never really think in terms of punk/new wave etc - I just like a lot of different styles. But that said, Iggy Pop is always good icon fodder -- (and I have had The Passenger stuck in my head for the last few days.)
