He just breaks my heart here - I know Alex isn't blameless in his troubles, but all my sympathy is with him.
And David - gahh! He does that *trying not to cry* thing much too well. He must be bloody hell to live with - I would be tempted to let him get away with murder.
We are, again, in the realm of not-very-good fathers. I think you certainly, and I for other reasons, may be sensitized to these situations. You think?
I am for Faramir, certainly -- and also for me. My memories of my dad are spotty at best, two or three snapshots in a three year olds mind. But none of them are good...
Alex has my sympathy here though - he is so shocked when she tells him, and she never gives him a sigle chance to try to make ammends - she has her own agenda, her own desire. She is not emotionally htere for him, either!
(and look at those eyes! How could anyone hurt him when he makes those eyes?)
And David - gahh! He does that *trying not to cry* thing much too well.
I have been thinking about this, and I have decided bean would be even worse- that big hunk of testosterone just goes right ahead and tears and sniffles... I would likely deny him nothing...
fileg can tell you where to get it on region 4 (is that right?) dvd. If that doesn't help I'd be happy to send you a copy of a converted tape.oO Watchable but hardly fabulous.
I have heard on one of my lines that HMV australia is cheaper/better so you may want to try them. That is not my experience - the shipping is cheaper, but the dvds I wanted were not. I like EZ DVD in Australia. I am willing to pay for my instant gratification. They have always gotten me what I ordered, right away. They had much more of what I was shopping for. They are at http://www.ezydvd.com.au/mech/search.zml
The tapes were a boon, mrkinch! They were quite watchable, and I got to see the missing ending. And at the time I had no expectation that they would ever put it on DVD.
no money necessary. I reuse tape and shipping's so little. Email me your address at mrkinchatcomcastdotnet and I should be able to make a copy this weekend. Always happy to share the love.^_~
Not just in the same movie, they play brothers -- Hugo (Marty, the musician) is the eldest, David (Alex, the architect) is the middle and Samuel Johnson plays Toby, the youngest.
Four hours of Australian mini-series in a great, Dennis Potter sort of style. MRKinch sent me tapes a while back, and my husband was the one who was wishing for dvd for screen caps so we could see baby-faced rocker Hugo's old posters better.
