Go to Wikipedia (http://www.wikipedia.org) and look up the day of your birth (leave out the year). Then post
three interesting facts
two births and
one death associated with that day.
Facts:
Feast day of the Assumption of Mary
not news to me, growing up Catholic and dedicated to the virgin. How I managed to escape being named Assumpta I'll never know. In Highschool I was taught by identical twin nuns (dominican) who had taken the names Sister Ascension and Sister Assumption. It doesn't say so here, but it is a feast of Isis as well, in the same avatar that you see for Mary (that is, seated as a throne for her child, the redeemer)
in Hawaii – Toro Nagashi (Floating Lantern Ceremony) to commemorate the end of the second world war. my brother's birthday falls on the bombing.
1969 - The Woodstock Music and Art Festival opens. (my 17th Birthday, which is why I was not there)
births:
I knew Napoleon and Lawrence (of Arabia), so
1858 - E. Nesbit, English author (d. 1924)
1944 - Linda Ellerbee, American journalist
died:
1057 - King Macbeth I of Scotland
