I just found out that Serenity is scheduled for release on December 10.

I thought I would share that info with my friends list in general, so

1. you can update your holiday wish lists, and

2. hopefully the people on my yule list (you know who you are) will tell me if they want it for Yule or if they are buying it themselves

That picture certainly makes River look bizarre and creepy in a way that is so entirely different from the way she is bizarre and creepy. Not that we don't love that about her; but that picture is just so wrong.

Yeah - she was far creepier in the show in that we didn't have any idea how limited or vast her abilities were. I was disappointed that in the film she was merely another "unstoppable battle-babe"... not that is necessarily a bad thing. Most of our favourite recent anime have them as the focus...

I encountered it quite by accident - popped in to Amazon to check my family's wish lists, and it came up in my recommendations. I just checked Amazon UK though, and they have no date listed. If I hear anything, I will certainly post.

My guess is that they have rushed this sucker to market, and while I'd like to support their effort, it seems a tad silly to buy the thing only to have to buy the better "full-release" "Director's Cut" "Extras out the yin yang" thing next year.

Silly greedy people have made me everso suspicious...

It sorta makes me wish they'dused this picture for the real poster though. SOmething to overcome Joss's Naming Sins...

Amen, my brother! I just had "special" editions of half a dozwn things recommended to me on my dvd site. So, you and the lovely one need to make sure your wish lists are updated.

And as to Wrath - I think the only thing they meant by its inclusion was discouraging bloody on-going vendettas and revenge killings. For myself of course I find many current possibilities for useful, helpful Wrath...

Sadly only good people seem to get assassinated. The peacemakers and the great people.
I guess idiots don't want to assassinate those who are merely vicious, powerful base and mean. But hope springs eternal...

I expect there will be a "special" edition down the line, but still... I may get it for Chris so we at least have one available in the meantime.
