taking the pledge

I do so solemnly swear that I will never allow the construct "COMCASTIC" to become a word.

At least, not the way your ads want me to use it......

Oh, I'll keep using that word.

But I do not think it means what they think it means.

Your icon is killing me. Took down the saying to do it in calligraphy. (I show at cons, not at art shows where people might be upset.)

how can such a sad icon make me laugh so much?

I decided to make a comcast tag, so I can gather all my complaints up at some point and send them in with my bill.

Comcastic?

ComCAUSTIC perhaps (as in dangerous to human flesh)

it does seem to be a universal truth....

I've been following your comcast woes, and I have a set of my own... The idea of closing my old Boston account and opening a new one in Seattle seems to be utterly beyond Comcast: they seem to alternate between billing me for both, and disconnecting both. Idiots. So I will join you in your pledge...

one of my favorite comcast stories --

about a year ago I have trouble with my bill, and after three days of calling I find out what has happened.

my local COMCAST has been combined with another local office into one bigger one. When they did this, they took the records, and put them all into one database.

They didn't look at them first, though, and figure out that many of the customer numbers were THE SAME. so, whoever came first alphabetically was being credited for both payments.

They could not understand why I was appalled.

Charming.

Pity they're the only game in town where high speed internet is concerned...

The commercial has made my list of "reasons I will never use [blank]", along with Tag/Axe body spray and Quiznos.

[identity profile] fileg.livejournal.com 2005-10-19 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
it enrages me all out of proportion to any earth logic.

I think it really is a very poorly picked word. I see it, I read 'craptastic.'

Comcast sucks big, hairy moose cocks all night long! (Credit goes to Treehugger for this saying.)

I hate that commercial. It makes me want to take my 9mm to the television set, especially when I'm actually watching tv and not a tape, so can't zap through it.

Comcast, meet my icon.

[identity profile] fileg.livejournal.com 2005-10-19 08:49 am (UTC)(link)
you icon is brilliant!

[identity profile] bell-witch.livejournal.com 2005-10-19 10:41 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. Found it while going through an old community for an HP group that's looking for links. That particular post was from early 1994 I think, so I don't feel bad about taking the icon. Credit where I got it from, but not sure if that's the person who made it.

It's just silly.
