basilisk stare

Technological success! We managed to get the tv/vhs feed into the G4
First experiment - Basilisk Stare (it was short)
Next Step - converting the PAL tapes

I thought I would share the perks of the project with you.
Since I can now cap Basilisk Stare, there are 100 caps of our Mr. Wenham here

Here's a preview, and I'll bet some of you will know my criteria for choosing:

why would the little brown bird chose this one? hmmm.....

and I guess most of you guys are too young to appreciate this,
but I think he looks so much like Illya (my other David) in this shot!

Oh! Thanks for sharing the loveliness! And, yes, I'm old enough to remember Illya K and see the likeness. Oh man, I had a /serious/ crush on him...

[identity profile] fileg.livejournal.com 2004-07-10 11:21 am (UTC)(link)
I still have a serious crush on him!

I fell for Faramir and Illya at just about the same time... funny how some things never let you go.

You have such great taste in men. *g*

I fell for Faramir and Illya at just about the same time... funny how some things never let you go.

Oh yes. I keep returning to Han/Luke, my first OTP, even if I didn't know what made them so special to me. Oh, the innocent joys of adolescence. *g*

Yes, he does look a litle Ilya-ish in that last one, though I'd never noticed the resemblance before. Being 'young' doesn't mean I can't appreciate the joys of U.N.C.L.E.

I was debating with my housemate recently over the choice btween Ilya and Napoleon.

I'm quite a big fan of all the 60's series in that vein - UNCLE, The Avengers, used to enjoy Get Smart and I just caught my first ever episode of The Prisoner last week. Need to see more of it. Need to.

Hmmm, sorry, it's kind of OT, but I had to say it:

I LOVE YOUR ICON!!!!!!!!!!!

[identity profile] shebit.livejournal.com 2004-07-09 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you very much. It likes you too.

[identity profile] fileg.livejournal.com 2004-07-10 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
I should have suspected you would have good tate in secret agents....

Chris and I have a similar debate - she is a napoleon girl, and much as I love Robert Vaughn, I have never seen the appeal.

[identity profile] shebit.livejournal.com 2004-07-11 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
See, I'm torn. Napoleon's smooth, and dark, while Ilya is blonde (and I don't go for blondes) and a bit...odd. He is however quite sweet. Hence being torn.

Your criteria? half-closed eyes and tongue out LOL
Congratulations for your technological success!
And of course thank you for sharing the screencaps again.
These are delicious!

[identity profile] fileg.livejournal.com 2004-07-10 11:24 am (UTC)(link)
keep your fingers crossed for us - if I get the PAL transfers to work, I will have several more goodies to share.

Mmm... tongue.. :d

[identity profile] reasdream.livejournal.com 2004-07-09 08:29 am (UTC)(link)
*drooools* yes, I like that picture, too.

[identity profile] fileg.livejournal.com 2004-07-10 11:25 am (UTC)(link)
Mmmmmm..... eyebrows......

[identity profile] gookachu.livejournal.com 2004-07-09 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
oooh, the pretty!@#$!@$@$

i was having a pretty crappy week, but this has made a lovely ending to it. thank you =)

[identity profile] fileg.livejournal.com 2004-07-10 11:26 am (UTC)(link)
hope things are better now.

He is a room-brightener, isn't he...

[identity profile] rennwench.livejournal.com 2004-07-09 08:18 am (UTC)(link)
WOW!
That last shot - David DOES look like Illya.

Yes I know Man from U.N.C.L.E. and the origional Mission: Impossible. Not to mention Hogans' Heros, Carol Burnett and Muppets. No wonder I can't keep a straight thought in my head. :-)

Ooooo, yummy. Thanks! *goes off for a cigarette*

[identity profile] kortirion.livejournal.com 2004-07-09 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmmm Illya Kuriyakin {am I spelling that right?]
Did anybody else have French lessons when the teacher said "il y a..." and everyone giggled, then the teacher got annoyed because they didn't know what there was to laugh at?

[identity profile] fileg.livejournal.com 2004-07-10 11:29 am (UTC)(link)
How brilliant! I would have taken French had I known.

No Idea?

[identity profile] northtrot87.livejournal.com 2004-07-10 10:41 am (UTC)(link)
Very nice angle, I completely see why you chose that picture :) Thanks!

Re: No Idea?

[identity profile] fileg.livejournal.com 2004-07-10 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
I have a bit of a reputation for having a preference for pictures of David where his eyes are closed. (beautiful as they are...)

re:re:no idea?

[identity profile] northtrot87.livejournal.com 2004-07-10 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes he has gorgeous eyes, and he still looks very good with them closed.

Dear Fileg,
You are my hero.
Love,
