for the challenge "buy" at tolkien_weekly
Everything belongs to the professor and his estate.
I am always grateful for the words it brings to me.
"Why should I purchase what is my own?" Thorin had growled, growing more angry by the moment as he glared at Bard and the burglar.
At least all that was his was restored in the end, Bilbo mused. He had not expected that he too would be obligated to buy back what was clearly his own. Some things would never be recovered, but usually he was content - and amused.
Except when he gazed into that velvet-lined case, still bothered by the spaces where the rest of his spoons should be.
He could almost hear Thorin’s laughter filling the room.
