New Aussie film or Van Helsing reunion?

Richard Roxburgh’s directorial debut is looking more and more like a “Van Helsing” reunion than ever, with news that David Wenham is now in talks to star in the film.

Roxburgh has asked Hugh Jackman to headline “Romulus, My Father”, the story of Romulus Gaita, a man who has had to flee his native Yugoslavia at the age of thirteen, and come to Australia with his young wife Christine and their four-year-old son soon after the end of World War II. It's based on the book by Raimond Gaita.

The film would detail the moving and tragic events which the family would face head on.

Roxburgh reportedly hopes to film the movie in Australia sometime later this year. Robert Connolly [“Three Dollars”] will produce.
