I'm not sure what criteria I would be use to pick out the *least favorite* movie, but I can tell you that after watching the movie Beastmaster I turned to my husband and said - "The next time I want to walk out on a movie this much, I am going to actually do it."

And the movie I subsequently actually walked out on was Spacehunter, adventures in the forbidden zone - even though I was with a group of about a dozen people and I had to sit outside on the steps and wait for them till the movie was over. (I always carry a book)

And although it seems like it would be my kind of thing, I disliked Tankgirl so much that I walked out of a friends house.

Maybe I'll go with Fifth Element - Jim and Chris both loved it, and I not only left the room, I ended up putting in two pair of earplugs to stop the noise.

But different parameters would lead me to diferent movies- for instance, Chris recently talked me into the Star Trek reboot and I still haven't completely forgiven her (though I will...)

It seems to me lately that I never really answer these questions, but use them to tell you something sort of related. I'm not sure if this tells you about the way my brain makes connections, or if it indicates that I would like more interesting questions. (perhaps not having to do with death or school)

Book meme! Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] _grayswandir_

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 56.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next seven sentences in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.

I know, this makes it look like I never read anything *but* Tolkien, but I happened to have Return of the King open on my left leg because I was trying to come up with an idea for my drabble.....

I have seen variations on how many sentences, ranging from three to ten, so I let this go to the end of the thought:

Sometimes where the way was broader he had ridden at the king's side, not noticing that many of the Riders smiled to see the two together: the hobbit on his little shaggy grey pony, and the Lord of Rohan on his great white horse. Then he had talked to Théoden, telling him about his home and the doings of the Shire-folk, or listening in turn to tales of the Mark and its mighty men of old. But most of the time, especially on this last day, Merry had ridden by himself just behind the king, saying nothing, and trying to understand the slow sonorous speech of Rohan that he heard the men behind him using. It was a language in which there seemed to be many words that he knew, though spoken more richly and strongly than in the Shire, yet he could not piece the words together. At times some Rider would lift up his clear voice in stirring song, and Merry felt his heart leap, though he did not know what it was about.

All the same he had been lonely, and never more so than now at the day's end. He wondered where in all this strange world Pippin had got to; and what would become of Aragorn and Legolas and Gimli. Then suddenly like a cold touch on his heart he thought of Frodo and Sam. 'I am forgetting them!' he said to himself reproachfully. 'And yet they are more important than all the rest of us. And I came to help them; but now they must be hundreds of miles away, if they are still alive.'

Your Love Life is Like The Princess Bride

"Since the invention of the kiss, there have only been five kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind."

For you, love is like a fairy tale - albeit a fairly twisted one.
You believe romance is all about loyalty, fate, and a good big of goofy fun.

Your love style: Idealistic yet quirky

Your Hollywood Ending Will Be: Perfectly romantic

The theme in one of my anime games this week is *badass*, and for grins, I typed it into google and came up with the "Which Evil Anime Badass Are You?" quiz. How serendipitous! I ran over to take it.....

Am very amused -

I'm not a "bad boy" kinda girl at all - most of my friends are attracted to the bad boy or the anti-hero, but not me. If there's a straightforward sorta guy available, that's right where I go. I guess I bend a little for "devious for a good cause."

But, I totally adore Kowaru. And what's more he's the *only* character in Evangelion that I can stand at all. (ok, there is one, possiblly two more that I don't actively want to smack all the damn time.) So, an unexpectedly fun result.

On the other-hand, I must express my opinion that I never considered anything about Kowaru *evil*. But, I'll give you badass, though I wouldn't have thought of it myself.

As to quiz results, after looking at the "see all results" page, while I wouldn't identify with anyone, so leaving everything but the main label aside: I am really *not* "backstabbing" evil - I would totally be Irritable evil. My frustration level, especially with stupidity, is *very* low.

You Are An INFJ

The Protector

You live your life with integrity, originality, vision, and creativity.
Independent and stubborn, you rarely stray from your vision - no matter what it is.
You are an excellent listener, with almost infinite patience.
You have complex, deep feelings, and you take great care to express them.

In love, you truly see relationships as an opportunity to connect and grow.
You enjoy relationships as long as they are improving and changing. You can't stand stagnation.

At work, you stay motivated and happy... as long as you are working toward a dream you support.
You would make a great photographer, alternative medicine guru, or teacher.

How you see yourself: Hardworking, ethical, and helpful

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Manipulative, weak, and unstable
fileg: (words have power)
I find this result particularly amusing because back in my 20's, when I traveled in SF Fandom circles, I had a friend whose post grad studies were in dead languages. One night to amuse him, I postulated a cultural event where a rink could be filled with clay, and then dancers wearing triangle shaped shoes would come out and perform on the surface, after which it would be projected onto some sort of large screen (diamondvision) and he would come out and read it to us. Then, the language zamboni would clear the surface and Act II would begin.

Your Score: Akkadian

You are Akkadian, a blend of the incomprehensible symbols of the Sumerians with the unwritable sounds of the early Semitic peoples. However, the writing just doesn't suit the words and doesn't represent everything needed, so you end up a schizoid mess. Invented in Babylon, you're probably to blame for that tower story. However, crazy as you are, you're much loved and appreciated, and remain actively in use by records keepers long after schools have switched to other languages.

the music meme - all over my f-list

Go to www.popculturemadness.com and select the year you became 18. Paste the list of the top 75 songs. Bold the ones you liked; strike the ones your disliked; and italicize the ones you know but don't exactly like nor dislike. The ones you don't know will stay common text. (I know all of them, so we'll skip that part)

Music is a large presence in my life, though the year I turned 18 doesn't seem as important to me than the music of the 60's which had a major effect on my life. By 1970 the music I loved best was winding down, at least from a billboard standpoint. In the 70's, what I was listening to can be better summed up with The Incredible String Band; Gordon Lightfoot and Leonard Cohen.

[livejournal.com profile] vulgarweed was playing with the Gender Genie, so of course I had to as well...

Inspired by an article in The New York Times Magazine, the Gender Genie uses a simplified version of an algorithm developed by Moshe Koppel, Bar-Ilan University in Israel, and Shlomo Argamon, Illinois Institute of Technology, to predict the gender of an author.

I randomly ran some of my stories - everything I submitted came back male. Interesting. I think my writing is marked ny my use of triads and adjectives, and is all basically relationship oriented (not romantic relationships, but the interactions between people.) On the otherhand, I think my style is straightforward and simple. Hmmmm.
